Aston Martin Unveils Valhalla Spider Supercar - valhalla spider

Aston Martin unveils its latest creation, the Valhalla Spider, setting a new benchmark as the brand’s fastest open-top supercar with a mid-engine layout. This debut open-cockpit production model prioritizes driver immersion while retaining the exceptional dynamic range that defines its class. Following the Valhalla Coupe’s launch earlier this year, the Spider builds on that foundation with roof-off capabilities.

The Valhalla Spider has a roof system designed to conserve the clean lines of the Valhalla Coupe and provide optimum solutions for every driving scenario. The car comes with a removable and stowable black fabric roof as standard, allowing customers to enjoy roof-off driving with full weather protection.

Design and Performance

The Valhalla Spider features a unique wind deflector designed to manage airflow over the open cockpit, ensuring cooling air flow is pulled down to the snorkel while lifting air over the occupants for enhanced comfort. The snorkel has been optimized for this open-top variant, reprofiled and sitting 35mm taller.

Revised active aerodynamics and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) calibrations identify and adapt to the air flow in both roof-on and roof-off conditions, maintaining consistent vehicle balance, stability, and driver confidence. The Valhalla Spider shares the same 1079PS and 1100Nm of torque plug-in hybrid powertrain as the Valhalla Coupe, with a central 828PS 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine.

A new carbon fibre Touring Seat comes as standard on the Valhalla Spider, enhancing occupant comfort and ease of entry and exit with the roof on. However, the original carbon fibre seat from the Valhalla Coupe can be retained at no cost if more dynamic driving support is preferred. The Valhalla Spider’s advanced and extensive whole-vehicle active aerodynamics continually adjust front and rear downforce to maximize grip, handling balance, and consistency of response.

Technical Specifications

Thanks to the shared foundational hardware and software, the technical variance between the Valhalla Spider and Coupe is limited to specific changes to active aerodynamics and Electronic Stability Control calibration. Each has been precisely tailored to maintain consistent aerodynamic performance and dynamic behavior in roof-off and roof-on conditions, with maximum downforce in excess of 600kg.

At the Valhalla Spider’s core is a version of the bespoke carbon fibre tub deployed on the Valhalla Coupe, designed and engineered by Aston Martin Performance Technologies (AMPT). The upper and lower sections of the structure are molded from carbon fibre using a combination of Resin-Transfer-Moulding process (RTM) and F1-derived autoclave technology, resulting in a singular, immensely stiff, strong, and light passenger cell.

Aston Martin CEO, Adrian Hallmark, said of the Valhalla Spider, “Valhalla Coupe broke so much new ground… Valhalla Spider builds on those impressive ‘firsts’, preserving the aesthetic beauty and dynamic bandwidth of Valhalla Coupe while introducing the expanded opportunities for enjoyment and engagement that can only be found in an open-cockpit supercar.”

The Valhalla Spider will make its global debut at the 2026 Concours at Wynn Las Vegas this weekend, showcasing its unique blend of style, performance, and innovation. With its advanced technology and sleek design, the Valhalla Spider is set to make a significant impact on the supercar market, offering an unparalleled driving experience for enthusiasts and collectors alike. The car’s carbon fibre dihedral doors have been refined for smoother operation, and the door glass top edge has been curved to improve entry and exit when the roof is fitted, making it an exciting addition to the Aston Martin lineup.

Complementing the open-air driving experience, the Valhalla Spider features frameless carbon fibre dihedral doors.

Advanced Engineering

The car’s advanced technology and sleek design make it an exciting addition to the Aston Martin lineup, with its global debut at the 2026 Concours at Wynn Las Vegas.

The Valhalla Spider’s plug-in hybrid powertrain produces exceptional performance, with a central 828PS 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine and a trio of e-motors contributing a further 251PS. The car’s top speed is electronically limited to 217mph, making it a formidable competitor in the supercar market, and it is capable of achieving Vmax with its roof removed.
